
The Right Choice
In order to find the right house in Melbourne’s inner west to convert to a luxury family home, we attended a number of open inspections with our client and prepared quick schematic proposals and costings for possible extensions and renovations in several houses our clients were interested in.
Our client needed our help to consider not only the cost of the houses for sale, but also the cost and effort needed to turn them into a home over the coming years.
In particular, we looked at the possible limitations of council planning schemes on future works, especially in relation to overlooking, overshadowing and heritage issues.
With our help the client was able to sidestep the problems many of the houses of the ‘60s and ‘80s displayed – from inappropriate or poor-quality renovations or overlooking properties, to lack of privacy - and find a house that was suitable for them.
